M.P.P.O.A. members win major awards

Kip Kellogg
Kirby Harless
Daryl Doberstein

Our members have recently been designated to receive major awards for their actions on the job. Kip Kellogg and Kirby Harless have received the Award for Valor from the Wisconsin Professional Police Association and have also received an honorable mention award from “Top Cops” for their actions during a critical incident at the Williamson Street BP station last year. These are top honors and they will join Tim Hahn, Jean Papalia, Shane Pueschner, and Phil Yahnke in earning statewide and national honors for their actions above and beyond the call of duty. We are all so proud to serve with them and they demonstrate the dedication to service that all M.P.P.O.A. members demonstrate every day at all hours of the day and night.

Daryl Doberstein received a Certificate of Merit from the W.P.P.A. for his actions last September when a student at LaFollette H.S. armed himself with a knife. Daryl safely resolved that situation preventing a school tragedy that we have seen in the headlines too often in recent years. We are very proud of Daryl and the excellent work he continues to do every day.
