RDO Grievance

This is to clarify any rumor or misinformation you may have recently heard regarding the RDO grievance. This year Halloween will be staffed in a manner that was used before management decided to start switching RDO’s. It is our steadfast belief that Halloween, Mifflin, and any other special event should be staffed in a manner that follows the guidelines of the arbitrator’s decision. In short, staffing the events like they were staffed in the past (pre RDO switching). If a union member is ordered to work on a RDO, they will be compensated per the contractual time ½ pay rate.

Recently, Members of the Management Team have approached Union Board members and asked for our assistance in developing a way to staff the aforementioned events while limiting overtime. Your Board has restated that it is our belief that they should pay overtime for any hours worked outside of regular schedules as determined in the grievance arbitration.

The Union Board will fight to preserve the rights outlined in the RDO grievance arbitration decision. If we feel it is something that cannot be successfully fought, we will work to ensure that our members are as protected as possible.
