We will have informational meetings on Wed. March 26th
at 8AM and Noon at the WPPA headquarters located at 340 Coyier
Lane. Please refrain if possible from email banter about the

2 year contract covering 2008 and 2009
3% wage increase retroactive to 1/1/08
3% wage increase effective 1/1/09
All shift differentials increased by the same percentages.
PEHP contributions from the city increased by the same percentages.
Neighborhood Officer’s moving to closed/competitive position
from classification seniority position.
FTO program changes effective in the Fall of 2009 as follows:
For each day that a Field Training Officer has a recruit they
will receive one extra hour of paid compensation. This will replace
the one day off per phase compensation we currently have. For
example: if a FTO has a recruit for 12 days or two work weeks,
they will receive 12 extra hours of compensation paid at straight
time. If a FTO has someone for 3 days, they will receive 3 extra
hours of compensation for that pay period.
In the fall of 2009 everyone that is currently a Field Training
Officer will need to reapply to remain part of the program.
Beginning in 2009, Sergeants that supervise probationary officers
will receive an extra 8 hours of compensation at straight time.
They will receive this compensation in the last paycheck of the
calendar year provided all related paperwork is completed.
Increased the number of Officers eligible for senior officer
pay to 5 on 2nds and 3rds.
Increased the number of Detectives eligible for senior detective
pay to 4 on 2nds.
Increased the number of Sergeants eligible for senior sergeant
pay to 2 on 2nds and 3rds.
Agreed to form a joint labor/management committee to study alternate
work schedules, most specifically a 4/10 hr work schedule. MPPOA
members on the committee will be Howard Payne, Bart O’Shea,
Matt Wentzel, and Linda Baehmann.
